Tomato "Green Zebra".
Exotic taste and look, but short shelf life!
A mid-season, medium-height variety that grows beautifully outdoors. The fruit is the size of a tennis ball (80-100 g), has very smooth skin, and resists cracking.
As it ripens, the green background becomes deeper, and the stripes turn a bright golden-yellow, creating a beautiful contrast.
Note: The fruits are delicious (sweet with a zesty tang), but they do not store for long.

Cultivation.
Light, highly fertile soils are suitable. Seeds are sown for seedlings in March at a depth of 2-3 cm. Before sowing, treat seeds with potassium permanganate and rinse with clean water.
Prick out at the phase of 1-2 true leaves. Fertilize seedlings 2-3 times. Start hardening off 7-10 days before planting.
Planting:
* Heated greenhouses: April.
* Unheated film greenhouses/outdoors: May (seedlings aged 60-65 days).
Density: Determinate varieties 5-7 plants per sq.m, indeterminate — 2-4 plants per sq.m.

Care:
Tall varieties are usually trained to 2 stems (the second stem from the sucker below the first truss). Remove other suckers and lower leaves. Limit growth by leaving 6-8 trusses per plant. Staking is mandatory.
Water regularly with warm water. Fertilize 2-3 times during the season. To improve fruit set, shake the plants gently every 5 days during flowering.

* "Home Remedies" for protecting tomatoes from Late Blight (Phytophthora).
These remedies not only protect against fungi but also serve as a "pantry" of micro- and macro-elements (foliar feeding + treatment!):
* Whey (milk serum).
* Onion skin infusion.
* Propolis tincture.
* Wood ash extract.
* Yeast infusion.
* Baking soda solution.
* Infusion of dandelion or good hay.

Folk recipes against blight:
* Garlic infusion: Grind 100 g of garlic (bulbs, scapes, leaves), cover with a cup of water, and let sit for 24 hours. Strain, dilute in 10 L of water, and add 1 g of potassium permanganate. Spray every 10-15 days.
* Whey: Dilute sour milk whey with water 1:1. Spray tomatoes daily starting from early July.
* Hay infusion: Soak 1 kg of rotten hay or straw in 10 L of water, add a handful of urea, and let sit for 3-4 days. Strain and spray every 1.5–2 weeks.
* Iodine-Milk solution: Dissolve 1 L of skim milk and 15 drops of iodine in 10 L of water. Spray every two weeks.
* Salt solution: Dissolve 1 cup of salt in 10 L of water. Spray large but still green fruits once a month.
* Copper sulfate: 2 tablespoons per 10 L of water. Treat plants once before flowering.
* Yeast: Dissolve 100 g of yeast in 10 L of water and water the plants at the root.

How to fight Late Blight? (Tips from experienced gardeners).
Phytophthora is a fungal disease caused by excess moisture and lack of sun. Wise gardeners suggest:
* Early planting saves the crop.
* Tall varieties are more resistant.
* Ensure good ventilation in the plot.
* Do not overcrowd! Leaves of neighboring bushes should not touch.
* Remove lower leaves.
* Water only at the root! (As the saying goes: "Tomatoes like wet feet and a dry head").
* Staking is a must: fruits should not touch the damp ground.

Remember: blight is always a risk, check your plants daily, starting with the lower leaves.

The most effective and recognized biological control method is PHYTOSPORIN (Fitosporin)!
